My Story
Why I do this
It started when I was a young athlete myself. I experienced first-hand the impact great physiotherapy can have, and it inspired me to build a career helping other people move and feel their best.
I trained in Sport Science (BSc) at Oxford Brookes, then completed my Master of Physiotherapy (MSc) at Plymouth. Since qualifying I've worked across elite sport and private practice, which means I've assessed and treated just about every kind of body, injury and goal you can imagine.
These days you'll find me at Exeter City Football Club, where I help professional footballers get match-fit and stay there, and at my own clinic at CrossFit Isca in Exeter, where I do the same for everyone else.
Two Worlds
From the training ground to the treatment table
Working in professional football teaches you two things. First, standards: when a player's career depends on their recovery, there's no room for guesswork. Assessment has to be thorough, treatment has to be evidence-based, and rehab has to actually work.
Second, that an injured pro and an injured runner, lifter or gardener are going through exactly the same thing. The sport is their job, but the loss is identical: the thing that structures your week, keeps you fit and makes you feel like yourself, suddenly gone.
I bring the same standards to both. Whether you're chasing a comeback fixture or just want to walk the dog without your knee complaining, you get the same assessment, the same care and the same honest answers.
On Your Side
I've been the one on the treatment table
I do CrossFit myself, and I train hard, so I've had my own share of injuries and frustrating niggles. I know how it feels when your body won't let you do the thing you love, and how tempting it is to push through, rest forever, or fall down an internet rabbit hole of conflicting advice.
That's why my approach is simple: find the real cause, treat it properly, and give you a plan you can actually follow, built around your life, not a textbook.
One Story That Sums It Up
It's never really about the pain
A client came to me with persistent lower back and hip pain. But what mattered most to her wasn't the pain itself. It was struggling to climb stairs and, most of all, being unable to comfortably push her father's wheelchair.
Through a tailored rehabilitation programme she didn't just overcome the pain. She's now running 10Ks, doing box jumps, and confidently pushing her father's wheelchair again.
That's the job. Not just less pain: getting you back to the things that matter to you.
